Biography
Mrs. Angela Mumbua Musyoka is a biochemist and emerging researcher specializing in medical, nutritional, and molecular biochemistry, with a growing focus on RNA biology, diagnostics, and therapeutics. Currently, she is affiliated with the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, Kampala International University (Western Campus, Uganda). She holds a Master of Science in Biochemistry from Kampala International University-Western campus (2024) and a First-Class Honours Bachelor’s degree in Science Laboratory Technology from Kisii University (2019). Her early training at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) provided hands-on experience in molecular virology and RNA-based techniques, including RNA extraction, PCR diagnostics, and cell culture, which shaped my interest in RNA-driven disease detection. Her research integrates experimental, computational, and translational approaches, with interests in metabolic diseases, particularly diabetes, and RNA-based therapeutics. As a core mentee, she is actively involved in the Africa Life Science RNA (AfriLSC) initiative, contributing to research awareness and collaboration across Africa.
