Mentoring Initiative

The mentorship scheme of the African Life Science RNA Salon is designed to provide early career scientists in Africa and globally with a platform for collaboration, learning, and career growth in the field of RNA research and beyond.
Following expression of interest by prospective mentors and mentees, the scheme involves pairing early career scientists with experienced mentors, both from Africa and the international scientific community. Mentors provide guidance, support, and knowledge sharing to mentees, helping them navigate their career paths and expand their research horizons. Mentees have the opportunity to learn from the experiences and expertise of their mentors, gaining valuable insights and skills to excel in the field of RNA and interdisciplinary research.

By participating in the RNA Salon mentorship scholarly-career scientists can benefit from an expanded network of collaborators and opportunities. The mentorship scheme facilitates connections with professionals across the globe, enabling mentees to seize career growth prospects and contribute to the global knowledge economy. The scheme fosters a collaborative environment where mentees can share ideas, collaborate on research projects, and explore interdisciplinary approaches to address emerging and re-emerging infectious and non-communicable diseases in Africa
